Yo mama • 1 year ago

good lord thorfinn looks completely broken. season 1 mustve been his breaking point

Sprayquaza • 1 year ago

his purpose is lost mate , with askeladd gone , what should he even do?

A disappointed Trash Bin • 1 year ago

To be fair, a broken man should've went back to where he belonged. He had a place to be but maybe guilt/pride wouldn't let him wan to go back.

Sprayquaza • 1 year ago

he had his chance , maybe he doesnt feel like he deserves it .

A disappointed Trash Bin • 1 year ago

Still pretty sad though that the old man (been a while I already forgot his name lmao) is still looking for thorfin to come back...

OfficialDrixMalone • 1 year ago

Which makes me wonder when the hell Einar's going to tell Thorfinn about the old man looking for him still and where he seen him!! Why withhold such info?! That's shitty AF smh.

Joseph Stalin • 1 year ago

I was just about to say that. I'm like Einar bro tell Thorfinn that an old man has been looking for him for who knows how long! Would have been the first thing I said after learning his name.

nantekotta • 1 year ago

Even tho Einar tells him, I don't think Thorfinn would go back.

Joseph Stalin • 1 year ago

Not even for his mother and sister? Its been what a decade since he saw them after his dad died maybe more.

nantekotta • 1 year ago

Don't you remember, when that bald dude met him at a dock Throfinn still refused to go back. I know things are diff now, since he lost his only purpose in life. But I think he's mentally spiraling downwards and might think he's of no use to others and will probably continue living a life of a worthless slave.
Damn, those words of Askeladd to Thorfinn now give me chills, where he asks him what would he do after killing him, saying he need to worry about that too.

forLogic5 • 1 year ago

I thought Einar just forgot about the whole thing tbh. Like, he's a slave, he doesn't even know where his life was going at that point to care about some old man who could be senile. Also, who knows how many people are named Thorfinn at that era.

Kirito • 1 year ago

I think einar forgot about it or maybe he will remember it in a few episode maybe

OfficialDrixMalone • 1 year ago

That prick forgot lmao.

Nikola Nikolov • 10 months ago

even if he did tell him day one i dont thin Thorfinn would care just yet he does need to find a reason to want more than just moving from one day to the next with out conflict

Sri Ram • 1 year ago

Lief ericssen

NetroLancer • 1 year ago

Leif Erikson is his name.

Rahul • 1 year ago

Don't worry mate s2 is going to be crazy just wait & watch....cz I'm manga rewder 😉

Kirito • 1 year ago

Even I would feel nothing if I lost my goal and purpose just like thorfinn he's alive but is empty inside

Kirito • 1 year ago

His goal was to kill askeladd and go home after he finished his revenge to the one who kinda killed his father but that was taken away from him now he's just man without a purpose in life

A disappointed Trash Bin • 1 year ago

Never forgotten what happened in season one. No need for the recap. But thanks anyway.

Truth • 1 year ago

His entire existence was revenge, and he couldnt even manage that... he doesnt know what to do

Balder777 • 1 year ago

"Should have went back to where he belonged"

You're acting like he willingly chose slavery. Bruh he didn't. He attacked the King and was lucky to be left alive.

A disappointed Trash Bin • 1 year ago

Did you forget he met with the guy that was searching for him for years? But he chose to stay and wanted to get his revenge, that was BEFORE he tried to attack the king.

Balder777 • 1 year ago

Which makes sense for his story arc. His revenge motivation was just too strong for him to go for any other goal.
Askeladd's death was necessary for him to see the futility of his goals, and also free him of those goals.

A disappointed Trash Bin • 1 year ago

Uh yeah, weird to explain something I already understand why he even did it in the first place. I was never confused anyway but thanks I guess?

HokNath BloodRage • 1 year ago

i believe its because his father died protecting his useless ass in season 1 when they encountered askeladd.

James Murphy • 1 year ago

Maybe he joined MGTOW >: ]

kwasi quartey • 1 year ago

worse of all he was not the one to take askeladd life

Mycroft • 1 year ago

Yeah, I mean his reason to live or should I sy his Ultimate goal was to kill Askeladd, but now that Askeladd is dead, what's his purpose? He just now going to the flow.

Ngl Caunte killing Askeladd really pissed me off back in S1, Thorfinn should've at least got another fight against Askeladd, I wonder if he'll want to fight Caunte the next time he meets him.

Leo Aestron • 1 year ago

Einar is probably the new pillar to support him back to his shape.

kaeyasupremacy • 1 year ago

yup, that's why I love him

Kirito • 1 year ago

They gave him half eaten bread and a half bread

Solar • 1 year ago

Well, the guy he wanted to kill with his own hands is dead, and not by his hands

Shiro Aikawa • 1 year ago

ngl im here curios as to what happened to emo canute

Balder777 • 1 year ago

He's not emo anymore...He's arguably the greatest Viking king ever in history. And Christian too.

Shiro Aikawa • 1 year ago

Man a Christian Viking what an odd combination

Balder777 • 1 year ago

He was arguably one of the greatest Christian Kings of Europe and was known for his piety.
He even left his Kingdom to do a pilgrimage BY FOOT to the Vatican/Italy, which no King would do in those days.
He was also the greatest NORDIC King as he held at the same time England, Denmark, and Norway (which was called the North Sea Empire).
Also, Christian Viking is not really surprising, as Christianity became widespread during the Viking Age and very popular among the Norse, despite what TV Shows like "Vikings" portray. Christian Kings could also be very harsh and brutal, they were no angels.

Shiro Aikawa • 1 year ago

You really like history don't ya?

Balder777 • 1 year ago

I'm European and quite fascinated about it, yes.
Especially the history of my continent, antiquity, the middle ages, etc.
One big part of why I watch Vinland Saga.

Shiro Aikawa • 1 year ago

POG

kaeyasupremacy • 1 year ago

LMAOOO

KrondaliX • 1 year ago

Well when you goes to the bottom, you can only climb up ;)

Kirito • 1 year ago

Going to war he thinks it's cool and fun but he doesn't know the people there are beast wearing human skin

Yakov Aluph • 1 year ago

Dont forget, in histroy realistically. he was the first person to step foot in Canada (aka Labrador and new foundland "vinland"). So Thorfin in this anime technically will soon become the world's greatest explorer

MeguminExplosion • 1 year ago

People aint going to last till the end of season 2. Farmville saga is too strong. People came in expecting the gore from season 1. Luckily for me, I will watch because I believe in Christopher Thorfinn columbus and introduction of hunter lady with bow will drop my panties.

Balder777 • 1 year ago

It's such an amazing arc. The manga shocked me.

SpyInDisguise • 1 year ago

"People came in expecting the gore from season 1"
lol what? No matter where you look you're always bombarded with "S2 is going to be so different" comments and that has been the case for years. You can probably count the people you're referring to with one hand.

MeguminExplosion • 1 year ago

The comment section is already filled with people complaining about the 1st and 2nd episode. Not as bad as Shinobi ittoki but bad enough to expect significant comment drops in the next few episodes due to people dropping.

Little does Einar know that Thorfinn is a beast himself and have had a tragic past just like him, I hope both of them will make a crew and set out together though Einar is weak and lacks combat experience.
